ZJ Front Coils To TJ Cheap 3.5" Lift

TJ and ZJ coils side by side.
While researching lift kits I ran across a DIY suspension lift that was far less expensive.. It can be installed at home, my total was $273.39, and the gain over stock was 3.5" at each wheel with a 1" rake.

The lift uses 2 V8 ZJ springs, which are a little taller and have a higher compression rate for the heavier V8 (holds the V6 TJ higher). The new coils replace the stock front coils - the stock front coils replace the stock rear coils. 4 longer shocks, a rear trackbar bracket, 6 bolts, and washers are also needed.

Fixing The Stock TJ Seats Instead Of Getting New

Grinding headrest from the stock TJ seat.
Stock TJ seats can get uncomfortable. There are write-ups (most raising the back of the seat frame), seats from other vehicles that fit or can be adapted, and a ton of aftermarket options.

Another issue I have is the headrest which blocks the 'over the shoulder' view, yet they're not adjustable or removable.

A Change Of Pace

There's been a ton of changes, the biggest being a move to Colorado. We didn't want to settle where we were, and it was a great time to make the move.

We both prefer mountains - so we researched options, narrowed it down to a few, then Google street viewed 'em, narrowing it down to one. After a pre-move roadtrip to confirm, here we are!
